Lake Mburo National Park is one of the best savannah national parks in Uganda to visit on your safari in the Pearl of Africa. It’s one of the most accessible national parks in Uganda, about 3 hours’ drive from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Lake Mburo National Park is one of the smallest national parks in the country, covering an area of about 370 square kilometers. The park a mix of ecosystems that provide habitats to various bird life and wildlife species, such as lakes, wetlands, savannah grasslands, acacia woodlands and forests. The park is famous for its rich biodiversity, home to over 340 bird species, including migratory birds, forest birds, savannah birds, acacia dwelling bird species, which are rare to find anywhere else. It also has 98 mammal species like leopards, zebras, impalas, hippos, 200 butterfly species, amphibians and reptiles. The park is an ideal safari destination for travellers with limited time in the country due to its accessibility.
