Butterfly watching in Semuliki National Park is one of the best safari activities to nature lovers with more than 448 species of butterflies. The Park is a destination for tourists who are interested in butterflies. Semuliki National Park is a fantastic location since it has the largest population of butterflies in the entire nation. On the day of the search, visitors are escorted by armed ranger guides for safety, and a guide shows them throughout the park to see the butterflies.

Semuliki National Park, located in western Uganda’s Bundibugyo district, is a famous destination for travellers and nature lovers due to its rich attractions, such as diverse wildlife, including 435 bird species, 9 primates, and 53 mammals, along with a high concentration of butterflies.

The park hosts chimpanzees and eight other primate species, along with 53 mammal species. Some of these species include the red colobus monkeys, de brazza’s monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys among others. Tourists can see forest elephants, leopards, Uganda kobs, and many more during organized activities.

What is the best time to vist Semliki National Park?

Tourists can visit Semuliki National Park all year, but the best time is during the dry season from June to September and December to February. This period has little rain, sunny weather, short vegetation for good wildlife views, and dry trails. Budget travelers might prefer the rainy season from March to May and October to November for discounts, but trails are muddy, and visibility is poor due to tall vegetation.
