Boat Cruise to the Bottom of Murchison Falls Experience.

A boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls can start from Paraa using a shared boat, or visitors can be picked up from their lodges while using a private boat; both allow visitors to explore the Nile and the uniqueness of its magnificent waterfalls. Visitors are given life jackets to protect them from any emergencies. All boat cruises are led by an experienced park guide who gives important information about the park’s inhabitants that you may encounter and the history of the park, how it changed from Kabalega National Park to Murchison Falls National Park, which spices up your trip.  The boat cruise takes between 2 to 3 hours, depending on the speed of the boat and the wildlife species that you might encounter.

This is done on the Victoria Nile Delta and heads upstream in the direction of the dramatic waterfalls, surrounded by lush vegetation and rugged cliffs. As the boat heads towards the base of the falls, visitors will have an opportunity to observe a thunderous waterfall, forcing its way through a 7m gorge, plunging 43m down the Devil’s Cauldron. It’s one in a lifetime experience as visitors hear the thunderous roar of the falls and see mist rising as the water uses extra force to plunge into the Devil’s cauldron. Visitors will also have an opportunity to see schools of hippos relaxing in the water, crocodiles basking along the river banks, buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, Uganda kobs, among others, bathing or drawing water along the River banks. This acts as a vital water source to the park’s inhabitants. Bird lovers will find the Nile a paradise for bird watching, with a variety of bird species to watch, including African Fish Eagle, Saddle-billed stork, African Skimmer, Kingfishers, Cormorants, Egyptian goose, Goliath heron, among more species.

Adventurous travellers can hike to the top of the falls, which offers a unique and unforgettable experience. Standing at the top of Murchison Falls provides scenic views of the Nile as it squeezes itself through a narrow gorge. Visitors can see, smell, and hear the awesome roar. The rainbow formed by the thunderous falls is quite unique and found nowhere else. A boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls is exceptional and a must do activity on your safari.
