Gishwati- Mukura National Park is one of the best bird-watching destinations in Rwanda, celebrated for hosting a wide range of bird species. It’s situated in the western region of the country. The park is a paradise for birdwatching, home to over 230 bird species, including Albertine Rift endemics, forest birds, water birds, migratory birds, and the park’s endemic species, which are rare to find anywhere else. The park’s rich avian life is supported by the presence of a mix of ecosystems, which include wetlands, tropical rainforests, grasslands and montane forests which provide habitats for various bird species.
