This 3-Day Birding in Lake Mburo National Park Safari will take you to one of the most best destinations in Uganda for a bird watching safari.  Its home to over 340 bird species including forest birds, water birds, migratory birds acacia woodland birds, and savannah bird species. This is the nearest park to Kampala and a true treasure to birders! The presence of savannah grasslands, lakes, acacia trees, wetlands, and woodlands provides various habitats to the park’s rich birdlife, including the elusive Shoebill Stork, Black-billed Barbet, White-winged Warblers, Crested Francolin, Dusky Turtle-Dove, Red-eyed Dove, Ring-necked Dove, Vinaceous Dove, Laughing Dove, Emerald-spotted Wood-Dove and others on your birding checklist.

DAY 1: BIRDING LAKE MBURO

Our company driver guide will pick you from your hotel in the morning and then head on a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Their will be numerous stop overs looking out for certain bird species with in there hardly missed localities. The Lilac Breasted Roller, Wolly-Necked Stork, Ruffaous Bellied Heron are among the birds of interest on this transfer. Stopping at the equator for photography and stretching up will be worthy while on this birding route in Uganda.

DAY 2: BIRDING LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Your day 2 of 3-Day Birding in Lake Mburo National Park Safari will begin with a hearty breakfast and then go for an early morning birding  excursion on foot along the park trails with an armed ranger. After birding you will return to the hotel relax and proceed for a game and birding drive which gives us higher chances of viewing mammals like the Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Topis, Buffaloes among others, as we do birding we focus our attention on the search for the Red Faced Barbet, Coqui Francolin, Brown Chested Plover, Tabora Cisticola, Lesser Blue Eared Starling, Buff Bellied Warbler, Red Headed Weaver, Black Shouldered Cuckoo Shrike, Sulpher Breasted Bush-shrike, Green Capped Eremomela, Bare faced Go-away-bird, Red Billed Wood Hope and more acacia associated birds, in the afternoon we go for a boat ride in search for the African Finfoot, White Backed and Black Crowned Night Herons, Giant Kingfisher etc back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: BIRDING TO ENTEBBE

Our birding today will depend on the flight time or where you will spend the night. There are good spots and we look out mostly for species that were missed where the Papyrus gonolek might be among. This marks the end of your 3-Day Birding in Lake Mburo National Park Safari with Caracal Explorers.
