12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla Tour and Wildlife Safari
This 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari will start from Kigali, Rwanda, and end in Kampala/ Entebbe, Uganda. This safari will take you to some of the most prominent safari destinations in these countries. You will go to Volcanoes National Park for the Bisoke hike, Bwindi Forest for the unforgettable gorilla encounters in their natural habitats, Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives and in search of tree-climbing lions, Kibale National Park for chimpanzee encounters, and Murchison Falls National Park to see the most powerful waterfalls. Bird lovers will enjoy countless bird species and a visit to Mabamba wetlands to see the elusive Shoebill stork spices up the safari. You will have guided game drives, boat cruises and lots of fun on this tour.
Day 1. Pick up from the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Depending on you arrival time, you will meet and greet our company driver guide who and transfer to a the hotel for relaxation and dinner. Overnight at Five to Five hotel. Bed and breakfast
Day 2. City tour and Transfer to Volcanoes national park in Rwanda.
Your day 2 of 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari will start with a hearty breakfast and transfer to Kigali city for a city tour to see the genocide memorial and local markets and later proceed to drive northwards to Volcanoes NP, arriving in the afternoon at your lodge. Overnight at Gorilla Solution lodge.
Day 3: Bisoke hike and transfer to Bwindi NP. (2-3 hours drive)
In the morning, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers. Proceed for a hike up to the crater lake on top of Mt. Bisoke. On return, you will cross over to Uganda and drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. You will check into the lodge relax and conclude your day 3 of 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga lodge.
Day 4. Gorilla Tracking.
In the morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing, and go straight into the forest to search for the gentle giants. You will be allowed one hour to stay in the presence of the gorillas, as you observe and take photographs. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (day 3).
Day 5. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Your day 5 of 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari will begin with an early morning breakfast, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP with en route game viewing in Ishasha for the tree climbing lions and proceed to northern part of the park for lunch and later take an evening game drive. Return to check in at any of the lodges for an overnight. Accommodation at Enganzi lodge.
Day 6. Game drive and boat cruise
In the morning after a cup of coffee, hit the Kasenyi track to catch up with early raisers and the cats as they return from the night hunt. Plenty of wildlife in this area will captivate you on this early game drive. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise along Kazinga channel for sightseeing and game viewing. Overnight at day 5
Day 7. Game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest NP
In the morning, you will go for another game drive and then transfer to Kibale with en route visit to the crater lakes of Ndali and Kasende. In the evening you may go for a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland for primate and bird watching. After you will return to the hotel freshen up and conclude your day 7 of 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari. Dinner and Overnight at Kibale Chimps Villas.
Day 8. Chimpanzee tracking
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for briefing before you proceed to track man’s closest relative of all the apes. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure. You may talk to your guide for a tour in Fort portal town. Overnight at Day 7
Day 9. Transfer to Murchison Falls NP. (6-7 hours drive)
Your day 9 of 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari will start with early morning breakfast, and after you will set off to Murchison Falls National Park, reaching in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge.
Day 10. Game drive and boat cruise.
In the morning, you will go for another morning game drive where you will
be chanced to see some more game missed the previous evening. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, go for boat cruise up to the bottom of the falls, which will reward you with view of game as hippos, crocodiles, among others. Dinner and overnight (Day 9).
Day 11. Murchison Falls NP to Kampala. (5-6 hours drive)
In the morning, set off to Kampala with en route visit to the top of the falls and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongora, for rhino tracking. Proceed to Kampala, reaching in the evening for drop off at your hotel. Overnight at 2 Friends hotel Entebbe. (bed and breakfast)
Day 12. Visit Mabamba swamp and transfer to the airport
In the morning, you will go for a tour to Mabamba swamp in search for a shoe bill and later transfer to the airport or hotel for drop off. This marks the end of your 12- Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari with caracal Explorers.
