Discounted chimpanzee permits for April, May, and November cost $200 for foreign non-residents, $150 for foreign residents, and UGX180,000 for East African citizens. Uganda Wildlife Authority sells these permits through licensed tour operators, who can also organize safaris for tourists planning primate safaris, including chimpanzees and gorillas.

Besides the discounted months of April, May, and November, during other months of the year, chimpanzee trekking permits cost $300 for foreign non-residents, $250 for foreign residents and the rest of Africa, and UGX180,000 for East African citizens. Early booking is recommended.

Trekkers are invited to leave after enjoying themselves with the chimps, and the family resumes its regular activities. Trekkers have the chance to see forest attractions like birds, animals, primates, and distinctive vegetation cover as they emerge from the rainforest.
