Major Bird Species in Akagera National Park: Akagera National Park is an amazing bird watching safari destination in Rwanda, located in the eastern part of the country. It’s the nearest national park to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. It’s the only savannah park in the country, attracting thousands of bird lovers to see various savannah bird species that call this lovely park home. It is the park in Rwanda with the highest list of bird species. It hosts up to 480 bird species, including savannah birds, water birds, migratory birds and the park’s inhabitants. Akagera is blessed with a mix of ecosystems, such as wetlands, lakes, swamps, woodlands and savannah grasslands that provide habitats to various bird species.
