Poor men unable to afford a bride price could take wives from among those exiled to the island. In African society, a girl’s pregnancy before marriage brings shame to her family, leading to strict parenting to protect their daughters from such situations. After canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi, check out from your lodge and begin your trip to Lake Mburo National Park.
