This 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Adventure will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for the enchanted mountain gorilla trekking experience and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the famous parks with a diverse range of wildlife encounters and several activities such as chimpanzee tracking, boat cruise and game drives where you will see several animal species like the tree climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, primates and several antelopes. In addition to housing half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests spanning over 25000 years and home to nearly 400 different plant species that contribute to the vast, continually green, impenetrable forest. About 400 mountain gorillas, 120 animal species, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics and is the ancestral home of the Batwa bush people.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport – Meet and greet and get transferred to your booked hotel in Entebbe Town
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our company representative will warmly welcome you and will serve as your professional English-speaking safari guide for the duration of your 5-day Uganda gorilla trekking and safari experience who will be at the airport guest waiting lounge to greet you and then take you to your reserved hotel in Entebbe Town to check in, freshen up and then meet your safari guide at the hotel reception to receive a safari briefing. Entebbe International Airport may be reached by car in 5–10 minutes from the accommodation. Later, if time allows, do a walking safari at the Entebbe botanical gardens, which are located on the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest fresh water body in Africa, home to numerous bird species and certain primates, including Vervet monkeys as you enjoy the cool lake breeze. Later, return to your hotel for your dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Entebbe city –Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park
On this particular day, after your breakfast, with all your belongings already packed in the vehicle, check out of the hotel at 6:30 am and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, located in southwestern Uganda, south of the Equator. Visit the Kayabwe equator landmark to experience water experiments that are conducted out on both sides of the equator line (Northern and Southern hemispheres), which demonstrate the difference in the movement of forces on each side of the world. Following this experience, explore craft shops, take some memorable photos and sip a cup of coffee to enjoy the aroma of the true Ugandan coffee. After, proceed with your journey for another stopover at Igongo Cultural Museum for lunch and tour the great cultural museum with history and traditions of the Ankole people. After proceeding with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You may arrive in the evening and check into your reserved hotel, refresh and relax until dinner is served and stay overnight.

Day 3: Mountain gorilla trekking – Game drive to search for the tree climbing lions Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, rise up very early in the morning, have breakfast, get your packed lunch and meet your safari guide. Drive to the park information headquarters to meet other guests for a briefing about the rules and regulations pertaining to the gorilla trekking exercise, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. During mountain gorilla trekking, you may see many other wildlife species such as forest elephants, forest hogs, bush pigs, chimpanzees, duikers and several bird species. After you have met the mountain gorillas, you will stay with them for an hour, and you will be free to take memorable photos for this adventurous and exciting experience with the mountain gorillas. After that, return to the park offices to pick up your trekking certificate of appreciation for your tremendous support to save the endangered mountain gorillas. Take a short break and enjoy your packed lunch, and drive through the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park for the rare and magical tree-climbing lions. After your game drive, head to the northern sector of the park and check into your reserved lodge for relaxation until dinner time and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning game drive – Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel – Spend your evening relaxing
After your breakfast, head to Kasenyi plains which are located in the northern sector of the park for the morning game drive, a great location for stunning highlights of Queen Elizabeth National Park. These plains are home to several wildlife species, especially the four members of the big five mammals like Lions, Leopards, Elephants, and Cape buffalo. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, characterised by dotted savannah grasslands which offer scenic views for other animal species such as Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, primates, and several bird species. Take a quick break, have lunch and other refreshments, and then head for 2-hour Safari boat cruise in the afternoon on the Kazinga Channel, the park’s principal waterway that links Lake George and Lake Edward. One of the most popular adventurous activities for guests to Queen Elizabeth National Park is a boat cruise safari on the Kazinga Channel. Along with a variety of water bird species such as Saddle-billed Stork, Pied King Fisher, Fish Eagle, Yellow-billed Stork, African Darter, with a number of creatures, including Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, and many more. It is an incredible experience, and every visitor should do the 2-hour boat cruise safari along the Kazinga Channel. After the boat safari, head back to your lodge for some relaxation, have dinner, and a night’s stay.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth national park – Morning chimpanzee tracking – Return to Entebbe International Airport
Get up very early, have breakfast, have all your luggage packed in the safari vehicle and drive to the head office of Kalinzu Forest Reserve where you will receive a warm welcome by the site local guide, get briefed on the magical chimpanzee tracking experience. You will begin your forest walk in search of these intelligent chimpanzees and other primates. Kalinzu Forest Reserve is the second-best chimp forest in Uganda, home to over 50 well-habituated chimpanzee individuals for visitor tracking. During chimpanzee tracking, you may come across more than 380 different primates, including red-tailed, blue, L’hoest’s, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and many others. After chimpanzee trekking, refresh yourself with a bottle of water at the forest offices after your encounter with the chimpanzees. Then, begin your journey back to Entebbe or Entebbe International Airport, stopping for lunch at the Igongo cultural museum before continuing directly to the airport to get ready for your return flight. This marks the end of our 5-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Safari Experience.
