Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport
Upon arrival, you will get a warm welcome from our company representative at Kigali International Airport. Later our safari driver will transfer you to your booked hotel in Kigali for refreshment and a pre-safari briefing about your 5-day Rwanda gorilla trekking safari. Have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla experience
After breakfast, we take a guided city tour of Kigali, including visits to the Genocide Memorial Center and Inema Arts Center. The city’s post-1994 genocide development is notable, particularly its ban on plastic bags, contributing to its reputation as the cleanest city in Africa. Following lunch at a local restaurant, we travel to Ruhengeri, located at the foothills of the Virunga Mountains and the Volcano National Park, for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked hotel.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early and prepare yourself; take breakfast at 6:00 am, then drive ahead to the park headquarters for a pre-gorilla trekking briefing. You will get divided into groups, each with assigned rangers. After that, you will begin your forest walk in search of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, where the trek may last between 2 to 5 hours. On seeing these mountain gorillas, you will spend an hour observing and taking photos as you study the gorillas’ playful habits, feeding on bamboo sprouts, and many others. If the trek goes smoothly, we return to the lodge for a late lunch. In the afternoon, we enjoy a performance by traditional dancers, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Relaxation at the beach or take a boat ride
After your leisurely breakfast, you will embark on a 2-hour drive to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu, bordering Rwanda and Congo. Lunch is available at local restaurants or at the hotel. In the afternoon, there’s an option to relax by the lake or take a boat ride. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your booked hotel/resort.

Day 5: Transfer to the Kigali International Airport
Have your breakfast, and after that, your safari driver will transfer you to Kigali through the undulating landscapes and tea estates. This will depend on your scheduled flight at Kigali International Airport. Have lunch in Kigali City and later drive to Kigali International Airport to meet your return flight.
