3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Adventure is a popular primate tracking tour in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, where you can meet gorillas and golden monkeys. The next day, trek through light bamboo forests to see golden monkeys, a rare primate endemic to the Virunga Mountains. Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Head to Volcanoes National Park
Have your breakfast and check out of your hotel to start your Kigali city tour, the capital of Rwanda. Upon your arrival in Kigali City, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which serves as the resting place for over 250,000 victims of the genocide, where over one million Rwandans, predominantly Tutsis, were brutally murdered by Hutu extremists. After that, you will have a visit to Kigali Central Market and later take a 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park. Upon reaching the park, you will visit the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera for a nature walk.

Get up early and prepare for the day’s highlight, have breakfast, and then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the precautions and measures concerning gorilla trekking. After that, you will embark on a forest walk with armed ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas in their natural wilderness. You will spend an hour with these gentle giants as you learn and study their social behavior as you take photos in memory of this amazing experience. Have your picnic lunch and later drive back to the park headquarters. Later, in the evening, you will have a community visit with the local people as you interact with them about their social status and culture. Retire and return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Wake up for an early breakfast, prepare, and head to the park headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing about golden monkey trekking. A team of ranger guides will lead the hunt for the golden monkeys, one of the rare primate species in Africa situated in the enormous Virunga Massif within the bamboo forest, together with several other species such as blue monkeys, red-tailed and black and white colobus monkeys. Later, return to Kigali for a drop-off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport to meet your return flight on schedule.
