This 10-day Uganda, Rwanda Primates and wildlife safari experience is one of the best safari that nature enthusiasts will enjoy in East Africa. Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls NP
After breakfast transfer from Murchison Falls national park en-route tracking rhinos in Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. After lunch in Masindi Town, drive up to the top of Murchison falls – a magnificent spot where the Nile water compresses into a narrow gorge of over 1 km wide down through a 7meter canyon forming a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the wonders of the Nile River! Day 2: Game drive and the Nile boat cruise
After an early breakfast, you will tour the Northern part with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, go for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where appalling water escapes through the narrow gorge forming a great thunderous uproar. Along the falls water birds and mammals are in great numbers. After you will return at the lodge have dinner and conclude your day 2 of 10-day Uganda, Rwanda Primates and wildlife safari experience. Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest national park
After breakfast, transfer to Murchison Falls NP heading Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley while enjoying the sights of traditional homesteads and farms in this verdant country side. You take packed lunch or simply have an early lunch Hoima. The Murchison- Kibale drive is approximately 7 to 8 hours depending on the weather conditions. Stay an overnight at Kibale tourist Lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Wake up for an early morning breakfast to get ready for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park. You need to get to the park headquarters by 8.00 am local time for briefing on the day’s activity by the senior park ranger guide. At 8.30 am you will be transferred to starting point from where the search for chimpanzees begins. There are 95% chances of seeing the chimpanzees in this forest. By mid -day you are expected to be back for lunch and later proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park for an evening game drive. Overnight stay at Enganzi Game lodge (mid- range).
Day 5: Game drive and Kazinga channel boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your day 5 of 10-day Uganda, Rwanda Primates and wildlife safari experience will begin with early breakfast, undertake a morning game drive to the Kasenyi area expecting to view early morning predators such as leopards, and lions, different antelope species, buffaloes, elephants, hippos paradise with over 606 species including a variety of migratory and Albertine Rift Endemics. In the afternoon, at 14:00 hrs you will walk down to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel between lakes Edward and George. This is the best place to see a cross section of all the wildlife in this park. Overnight stay at Enganzi Game lodge (mid- range).
Day 6: Ishasha Sector tree-climbing lions and Transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast transfer to Bwindi impenetrable Forest NP through the Ishasha – the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP for a game drive to view the tree-climbing lions which are only here in the whole country. Savannah Hotel is ideal for lunch after a game drive in Ishasha. Arrive in Bwindi in the evening. Overnight stay at Traveler’s rest Kisoro (Budget)/ lake Mulehe Safari lodge/ Bakiga Lodge (mid- range).
Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Tracking and community Visit
After an early morning breakfast walk to the park headquarters for briefing and later follow the gorilla trail. It normally takes between to 8 hours or even a day to encounter the gorillas. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of these awesome apes for at least an hour. It is advisable that you carry packed lunch as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas. In the evening after meeting the gorillas in the forested mountains you will return to your lodge for a rest and later go for a community visit where you will discover more about the local ways of life of the people around. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe safari Lodge/ Ichumbi Gorila lodge (mid- range). This marks the end of your day 7 of 10-day Uganda, Rwanda Primates and wildlife safari experience.
Day 8: Transfer to Volcanoes National and cultural visit
In the morning after your breakfast, you will transfer to Volcanoes national park (Rwanda) arriving in the afternoon. have lunch and later go for a cultural tour to Ibyiwacu village to get a deep insight into the Rwandan culture. Meals and overnight at Le bamboo lodge (Mid- range).
Day 9: 2nd Gorilla Trek
Your day 9 of 10-day Uganda, Rwanda Primates and wildlife safari experience will begin with a hearty morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about your 2nd gorilla trek this time in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. You will get to track gorillas in the great Virunga massif another home of mountain gorillas. The hike also takes 2 to 4 hours and once you get to the mountain gorillas, stay in their presence for an hour and later return for a transfer to your lodge. In the evening you can go for a village walk. Meals and overnight at Le Bamboo lodge (Mid-range).
Day 10: Transfer to Kigali for City tour & Departure
You will depart Volcanoes National Park for Kigali after breakfast arriving in time for a Kigali city tour. Visit the genocide museum, local markets and other places of interest and can later be driven to the airport for departure depending on schedule
