Major Bird Species in Gishwati- Mukura National Park: Its an interesting birding destination in Rwanda, located in the far western region of the country with in the Albertine Rift. The park was formed in 2015 to protect the Albertine rift endemics at that time. Its formed of Gishwati forest and Mukura forest. Its blessed with diverse natural systems like wetlands, tropical rainforests, montane forests, and grasslands which provides habitats to various bird species. Its home to more than 230 bird species in Gishwati forest and 163 bird species in Mukura forest, such as water birds, forest birds, Albertine rift endemics, and migratory bird species. Birding is a guided activity led by an experienced park guide who provides more insights about the bird species encountered in the park.
