Birds found in Gishwati-Mukura National Park: The park is one of the most interesting bird watching destinations in Rwanda that attracts thousands of bird enthusiasts and ornithologists to watch the park’s unique bird species. Gishwati- Mukura National Park is situated in the far northwestern region of Rwanda within the Albertine Rift Valley. The park hosts over 230 unique bird species, including migratory birds, water birds, forest birds, and Albertine Rift endemics. The presence of a mix of natural systems such as swamps, tropical rainforests, and montane forests which provides habitats to numerous bird species. Birding in the park is best enjoyed in the morning hours when birds are most active, and this provides excellent chances of encountering various bird species, and photographers get a unique opportunity to capture stunning images.
