This 7 Days Gorillas and Tree-Climbing-Lions safari will take you to explore Uganda’s finest safari, combining unforgettable wildlife encounters and immersive gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as well as Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. The park’s immense activities such as boat cruise, game viewing, birdwatching and chimpanzee tracking, are the highlights that define the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas and is one of the ancient, most biologically diverse rainforests, dating back about 25000 years. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the out standing beautiful savannah national parks in Africa with unmatched, beautiful crater lakes, riverine forests, forested gorges, savannah plains and the scenic Kazinga Channel. The park is home to 95 wildlife species including, leopards, lions, buffalos, hippos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, primates, antelopes, with over 600 bird species.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport-Meet and greet and get transferred to your booked hotel (Evening nature walk at Entebbe Botanical Gardens)
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company representative/driver guide who will brief you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe to check in, freshen yourself, and later meet your guide at the hotel reception to get briefed about the tour. relaxation. Later if time allows, drive to Entebbe Botanical gardens for a walking safari which are found along the shores of Lake Victoria. Expect to see several bird species like the Verreaux’s Eagle Owl, Yellow-billed Stork, Malachite Kingfisher, Purple-banded Sunbird, Yellow-billed Duck, Lesser Jacana, African Jacana and several primate species. Later return to your booked hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park-Evening game drive
Rise up early and prepare your self, have breakfast, with all your luggage packed in the safari vehicle, check out of the hotel and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in south western Uganda. You will have your first stopover at the Kayabwe Equator land mark for the water experiment experience, where the forces of movement at the equator line divides the earth into two hemispheres (southern and northern hemispheres). There after, proceed with your journey to Bwindi and get another stopover for lunch in Mbarara, at Igongo Cultural Centre, later proceed with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in the evening for wildlife viewing as you drive to your lodge for relaxation, have dinner and overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive-wildlife viewing at Kasenyi- Evening Boat Cruise
Wake up early, have your breakfast, drive to the northern region of the park to Kasenyi plains and embark on seeing the park’s early risers like Lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, civet cats, elephants, buffaloes and many others. Retire for lunch, and head for the classic highlights of the 2-hour boat cruise across the scenic Kazinga channel, a 36-kilometer canal that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. Along the channel banks, you will see both land and water mammals such as hippos, Nile crocodiles (thermo-gaping) along the banks and several bird species like Fish Eagle, African Jacana, African Skimmer, Yellow-billed Stork, and others. You will stay at Parkview Safari Lodge or its equivalent for dinner and the night. Head back to your lodge fore relaxation and feel at leisure until dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy your early morning breakfast, drive through the southern Ishasha sector of the park in search for the magical tree climbing lions. These rare tree-climbing lions are found only in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Manyara in Tanzania and Kruger National Park in South Africa. However, this is the best location to see these amazing creatures, therefore, you will get amazed on seeing these lions resting on or under Fig tree branches especially in the afternoon. Other wildlife species to see in the adventurous savannah grasslands include topis, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffalos and several primates. Proceed with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, check into your booked safari lodge for relaxation, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park –Relaxation on Lake Bunyonyi
Enjoy an early breakfast and prepare for the safari’s main highlight. This day gives you the opportunity to meet the endangered mountain gorillas, the forest giants that call Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park home. A professional guide will accompany you as you venture into the jungle, where you will hike through breathtaking scenery before spending an hour with the mountain gorillas. In addition to the gorillas, you will come across several wildlife species such as Forest elephants, forest hogs, bush pigs, duikers, primates like L’hoest Monkeys, Blue monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and several plants, butterflies and bird species. There after, return to the park headquarters for your certificate of participation in support of conserving these mountain gorillas. Take a break, have your lunch, and later in the evening drive to Lake Bunyonyi where you will check into your booked hotel, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala
Prepare your travel bags, take your breakfast, and after head for a morning boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi for the beautiful scenery, where you will explore and learn the historical background of the several islands found along the lake. After this experience, check out and take a thrilling road trip back to Kampala, with a stopover at Mbarara for lunch. Later, proceed with your journey to Kampala and get another stopover at the Equator for a short break, take photos, visit gift shops and after proceed to Kampala Where you will reach in the evening. Check into your booked hotel to freshen, relax for an evening leisure until dinner is served and overnight.
