The 5 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari will take you to the great Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is renowned for its mountain gorilla tracking experience and is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s second biggest savannah park, home to 95 wildlife mammals and 600 bird species. Both parks offer unique experiences for visitors including wildlife species like lions, elephants. leopards, buffalos, warthogs, antelopes, primates and several bird species.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport- Get Transferred to your Booked Hotel
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our friendly customer care representative and a professional safari guide. After, you will be transferred to your booked hotel in Entebbe town, where you will get briefed about your 5-days mountain gorilla trekking and wildlife encounter. If time allows, you will visit the Entebbe botanical gardens for a walking safari, exploring Uganda’s beautiful nature punctuated by several birds along the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest fresh water lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Entebbe City-Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This day, you will depart from your hotel and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. You will have a stopover at the Kayabwe equator landmark to experience the water experiment, visit craft shops, and enjoy Ugandan coffee. Then, you will visit the Igongo Cultural Museum, a rich heritage site with Ankole people’s history and traditions. After lunch, you’ll head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The park is one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, with over 25,000 years of history and nearly 400 plant species. Check in at your booked lodge, relax and have an over night stay.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi-Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park- Tree climbing lions
Mountain gorilla trekking involves preparing equipment and dressing appropriately for the activity. After breakfast, guests meet their safari guide and drive to the headquarters. They are briefed on the gorilla family, expectations and safety precautions. After a pre-mountain gorilla trekking session, the group begins a forest walk to search for endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. The time taken to encounter the gorilla family varies, but it may take 45 to 4 hours. It is recommended to carry enough water and snacks to stay hydrated and energized. The gorilla family can consist of several members, including the giant silverback, mothers, infants, and juveniles. After an hour with the gorilla family, guests receive a certificate for their contribution to the conservation of endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda. After, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to search for tree-climbing lions, which are unique to the park. After the game drive, guests check into their booked lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park-Morning Game Drive Safari-Afternoon Boat Cruise-Evening game Drive
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before driving to the Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. This area is a popular habitat for big game, including the four mammals of the big five family of the African savannah such as lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard together with several antelope species, primates, and warthogs. Enjoy a half-day game drive through the Kasenyi trail, where you can spot various mammals and bird species. The park is a feeding ground for over 95 mammal species and 600 recorded birds. After lunch, embark on a 2-hour boat cruise safari along the Kazinga Channel, where you can see various mammals and water birds. Return to the Kasenyi plains for an evening game drive, spotting more wildlife species like lions, spotted hyenas, and leopards.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park- Chimpanzee Trekking Experience- Return to Entebbe International Airport
Rise up early, take your breakfast and have all your travel bags loaded in your safari vehicle and head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve where you will get briefed by the ranger guides on chimpanzee trekking. After, take a forest walk in search for the intelligent chimpanzees totalling to over 50 semi habituated individuals and other primates such as blue, red-tailed, l’hoest and black and white colobus monkeys among others. The trekking time may last between 1 to 4 hours depending on their location, and upon seeing these chimpanzees, you will spend an hour studying their behaviours as you take memorable photos. Return to the forest headquarter offices, get refreshed and after proceed to Entebbe International Airport
