The 5-day Kenya-Tanzania safari offers exciting wildlife experiences in top tourism spots like Serengeti National Park and Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Maasai Mara, located in southern Kenya near the Tanzania border, covers 580 square miles and is named after the Maasai people. It is known for its diverse wildlife, including hippos, giraffes, and black rhinos, as well as predators like lions and cheetahs. The park features the famous wildebeest migration from July to October, where over 1.5 million wildebeest cross the Mara River. Masai Mara is a prime destination for wildlife enthusiasts, boasting 95 mammal species and over 400 bird species. Serengeti National Park, spanning 5,700 square miles, is known for its biodiversity and the iconic Big 5 animals.

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
On this day, our safari guide will meet you after your breakfast and brief you about the 5-day Kenya-Tanzania wildlife adventure and then transfer you from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, proceed to check in at the lodge and have lunch. You will then head out for the sunset game drive, during which you anticipate seeing various animals, including the black-maned lions, African elephants, leopards, cheetahs, Cape buffalo, and much more. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive at Masai Mara National Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, set off for the morning game drive to search for the African Big Five, such as the rhino, lion, elephant, leopard, and buffalo, and other wild game. Later, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive following different trails, which will give you a chance to spot even more animals. Transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer from Masai Mara to Serengeti
On this day, you will have an early breakfast and checkout from the lodge by 6:00 am. We kickstart with the game drive as we drive to the Isebania border towards our next destination of the 5-day Kenya-Tanzania safari. This day will take you to another section of the Masai Mara as you exit the park via the Olololo gate in Mara West. Then, we get cleared and cross to Tanzania, where we shall proceed to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, we embark on the 2-hour sunset game drive as you enjoy the plains of the Serengeti. The Serengeti allows you to spot the Big Five game in plenty. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 4: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti
After your early morning breakfast, we head out for the morning game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which intersects with the plains south of the Seronera River. Some of the wildlife to look out for in this section include lions, topi, ostriches, Thomson’s gazelles, and cheetahs, among others. After your game drive, you will proceed to the Visitor Centre closer to Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites. The Centre offers amazing wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area, and we shall be having our lunch from there. Later in the afternoon, we will embark on the drive through the Kopjes Circuit, which directs anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes. This circuit is known for the large numbers of lions and cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops scattered around the savanna plains, providing shade and drinking water in pools, making them spectacular hunting grounds for lions, especially during the dry seasons. Return for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer from Serengeti to Arusha
After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive where you will encounter nocturnal animals returning from hunting and lions awakening in the dawn. The morning game drives go for about 2-3 hours, and thereafter head back to the lodge or camp for check-out and have the final game drive as you are exiting the park. Drive to Arusha with a picnic-packed lunch and arrive in Arusha late afternoon at the hotel or airport.
