Major Bird species in Kidepo Valley National Park: Kidepo National Park is one of the most outstanding bird watching destinations in Uganda, famous for its semi- arid landscapes and rich bird life. It is situated in the northeastern part of the country, covering an area of about 1,443 square kilometers. It hosts over 490 unique bird species, such as migratory birds, savannah birds, birds of prey, water birds and the park’s endemic species, which are not found elsewhere in the country. Kidepo National Park has various spots for enjoying bird watching tours with rich avian life, like Narus Valley, Kidepo Valley, and areas around Apoka Rest Camp. Birding is one of the most rewarding activities in the park that allows bird lovers to explore the park’s unique avian life.
