Why do luxury clients opt for chartered flight safaris in Uganda

Chartered flight safaris in Uganda enhance efficiency, flexibility and safety especially to travellers whose target is to minimise the supply chain issues of reaching these remote destinations. From Entebbe or Kampala, by road the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park, may take about 12 hours, Bwindi-9 hours, Rwenzori-9 hours, and many others depending on the conditions of the roads. Contrary to this, high end travellers with limited time and those who hate travelling long distances, prefer having chartered flights to minimise time, with efficiency and comfort as well.

Flight rates

Price range varies depending on the nature of the season for both scheduled and chartered flight safaris of a given year. During the high season that runs from June to September and from December to February, prices for tickets tend to be higher as a resulting from high demand which leads to high crowds.  More still, when accessing Bwindi for mountain gorilla trekking experience using a scheduled flight, a one-way ticket from Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport to either Kisoro or Kihihi Airstrips usually costs around $250 to $350 per person. However, the cost of the round trip is always higher ranging between $450 to $600. On the other hand, chartered flights are a little more expensive ranging between $1500 to $3000. This also depends on the distance to be covered, size of the aircraft, among others.

Flight Conditions

Often times, flights are organised during day time hours emanating from unstable weather conditions that are mainly common in the remote destinations. This means that travellers should take note of this and get prepared for mild conditions, since the size of these domestic aircrafts is subjected to strong weather and easily affected by wind than the bigger commercial planes. However, this shouldn’t bother you, since the pilots are experts and are used to these routes, they are capable of handling such conditions.

Conclusion

Chartered flight safaris play an instrumental role in promoting the development of Uganda’s tourism industry through enhancing government revenue, connectivity especially in remote areas that seemingly distant but with unique and exceptional adventure tourists’ activities such as gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Mgahinga National Parks, unique wildlife species in Kidepo Valley National Park, hiking in the Rwenzori Mountains, and Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park among others. Expanding chartered flight choices in the country will undoubtedly increase regional competition and foster global tourism market. This also creating lasting connections, by supporting the local communities and industries as a way of promoting sustainable tourism.
