The day begins with breakfast before a transfer to sector offices, where park wardens explain the rules and regulations of the activity. Afterward, groups of 8 are formed and led by armed ranger guides.
The armed ranger guides lead the trek through different trails of the park while protecting trekkers from dangerous wild animals. During the search for mountain gorillas, trekkers may encounter park species including mammals, primates, birds, and unique vegetation. The search for the mountain gorilla family can take 2-7 hours and this time depends on the location of the mountain gorilla family and the trekkers pace.
When near the gorilla family, keep your voice low and stay 7 meters away, as per the regulations. You will spend an hour observing their habits, taking photos, recording videos, and watching their daily activities.
