12-Day Wildlife Safari In Uganda

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to a hotel in Kampala
Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet with our company driver guide who will transfer you to your booked hotel, check in to the hotel, freshen up ,relax and get ready to start your 12-day Wildlife Safari in Uganda.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
After having an early breakfast, you will meet your driver guide and transfer to the famous Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for white Rhino tracking. There is no complete Big Five safari without a trip to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can meet Rhinos. You will head on a guided Rhino tracking with a game ranger who will lead you and this will give you an opportunity to come close to them. Don’t forget to carry your cameras to take as many pictures as you want for memories. After Rhino tracking you will have lunch and then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. One of the Uganda’s ancient protected areas and recognized for getting immense number of international visitors. On your arrival at Murchison falls national park, go straight to encounter the world’s strongest falls to witness the whole Nile squeezing through a narrow gorge of about only 7 meters wide exploding into violent waterfalls into a whirlpool of about 43 meters below. Meeting Murchison fall is breathtaking. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Wildlife Experience with Game drive and Boat cruise on the River Nile
You will start your day 3 of 12-day wildlife safari in Uganda with an early morning hearty breakfast and your guide will lead you for the game drive in the Park. You will enjoy the beautiful views of the savannah grasslands. On a lucky day, you will spot Lions, elephants, hippos, Leopards, waterbucks, Hyenas, Giraffes, Bushbucks, Uganda kobs, Warthogs among others wandering all over the Savannah grassland grazing or hunting the prey bird lovers will have a chance to observe numerous bird species like Bee eaters, Secretary birds, Hornbills, widow birds, marabou stork, open billed storks among others. After the game drive you will return at the lodge relax and have lunch. After lunch you will go for a boat cruise from the bottom of the falls which will expose you to seeing herds of elephants showering along the river bank, hippos swimming, crocodiles, warthogs and various bird species like Francolin, Giant King Fisher, warblers, woodpeckers among others. After you will return to the lodge freshen up and have dinner.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After having breakfast, you will drive through the park and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, along the way you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the pearl of Africa. Kibale is commonly known as “the primate capital of the world” which is home to over 13 primate species like chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons and over 380 bird species. The park is home to half of the world’s chimpanzees which are our closest relatives on this planet. You will have lunch en route in Fort Portal and have a city tour. Later you will check in the Lodge and spend an evening at leisure.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Walk
You will have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. After you join your assigned group led by a game ranger and start searching for chimps, you will be amazed by observing how these playful chimps feed, play, and mothers cuddle their young ones just like humans. Please carry cameras and take as many pictures as possible. After you will head to the hotel, relax and have lunch. In the evening, you will go for a community walk in Bigodo sanctuary swamp. This is a community neighboring the park. You will see different bird species and primates like colobus monkeys, baboons. This will give you a chance to learn more about their cultures, how they grow coffee, and treat themselves with local herbs. You will conclude your day 5 of 12-Day Wildlife Safari in Uganda and prepare for the next day.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and visit the Salt mines
You will begin your day with a hearty breakfast then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park which is one of the most popular national parks in Uganda because of its diverse ecosystems such as sparkling lakes, humid forest, sprawling savanna and fertile wetlands which attracts many wildlife species such as birds and mammals to it their home. This park is also well-known for the Kazinga channel and for harboring the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. You will visit Katwa salt mines, the salt lake in the park, and you will see a unique salt mining operation and learn about the local community’ans traditional methods of salt extraction. After you will head to the hotel and prepare for the evening game drive.

Day 7: Wildlife Viewing by Game Drives and Boat Ride.
Begin day 7of 12-Day Wildlife Safari in Uganda with a hearty breakfast and amazing view of the park at your lodge. After you will drive to Kasanyi plains in the northern sector of the park for an amazing game drive. You will spot various animals like the Leopards, elephants, lions, hippos ,kobs, water bucks, warthogs, topi, Hyenas and among others wandering or looking for prey in the park. Bird lovers will take pleasure in watching over 600 species of birds, including grey-crowned cranes, red-throated spurfowls, and yellow-throated longclaws, among others. After the game drive, return to the lodge, have lunch and embark on the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This waterway flows from Lake George and Lake Edward cutting through the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey leads you to thrilling encounters with hippos, elephants, crocodiles, buffalo and more. You will also see various bird species like shoebill, yellow-billed stork, black bee-eaters, black crakes, African skimmers, pied kingfisher, African fish eagle, pink-backed pelican. You will head back to the lodge dinner will be served and prepare for the next day.

Day 8: Game drive and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will have early breakfast and go for a morning game in Ishasha sector in search for tree climbing lions. These lions are rare and only found in Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda. You will also spot various bird species and mammals including Palm-nut Vulture, Hooded Vulture, African White-backed Vulture, Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture, Lappet-faced Vulture, Brown Snake Eagle, Wahlberg’s Eagle, Long-crested Eagle, Leopards, Buffaloes, kobs among . After the game drive you will have lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest Lake in Africa for relaxation and canoeing.
Day 9: Canoe ride and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Your day 9 of 12-Day wildlife safari in Uganda will begin with a relaxed wakeup and breakfast at your leisure then go for canoeing or Boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. You will spot various bird species including the Pied Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, Black Heron, Grey Crowned Crane, and various weaver birds like the Black-headed and Golden-backed weavers. You will get to know the history of lake Bunyonyi why its called ‘’a place of many little birds’’, interesting stories of the hills surrounding the Lake. You will have lunch and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Check in to the hotel in the evening you can go for nature walk .

Day 10: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience and Batwa cultural encounter.
After having early breakfast and your packed lunch boxes you will transfer to Uganda offices where you will meet other trekkers for a briefing about the do’s and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will be grouped and the ranger guide will lead you to your assigned gorilla group and search for them , after locating them you will spend one hour observing these magnificent creatures. You will then go back to the lodge relax, later in the evening you will go foe Batwa cultural experience. These were the indigenous inhabitant of the forest before it was gasketed in to a national park. You will see how they used to live, the local medicine they use to treat them services, traditional dances among other. After you will return to the lodge have dinner and prepare or the next day.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, Evening Boat Cruise.
Your day 11 of 12-Day wildlife safari in Uganda will begin with a hearty breakfast then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park the smallest park in Uganda which is a home to Impalas, Zebras , Erands, Giraffes among others. You will have lunch enroute at Igongo cultural center and proceed to the park. You will check in to the lodge, and later you will go for for a evening boat cruise. This is a great opportunity to observe the beautiful scenery of the park, hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles, water bucks and bird species including shoebill stork, herons, Ross’s turaco African fish eagle, stork, pied kingfisher among other. You will return at the lodge, have dinner and rest.

Day 12: Morning Game Drive or Walking safaris in Lake Mburo and return to Kampala.
You will have early breakfast, and head to either morning game drive or walking safaris depending on what you want. Both safaris will give you a change to see various animals including giraffes, zebras, elands, kobs among others bird lovers will have a chance to observe varies bird species including Rufous-bellied heron, black-bellied bustard, bateleur, the Lake Mburo endemic red-faced barbet among other. After the safari you will transfer to Kampala/ Entebbe to conclude your 12-Day wildlife safari in Uganda. You will have lunch en route and a stop over at the equator in Kayabwe .
